This #GivingTuesday Give the Gift of Reading

Imagine yourself as a child for a moment…growing up, and having almost zero access to books. Your only contact with books is inside a classroom, where one is likely shared among multiple students. Not a single library exists in your community and the nearest one is about 45 minutes away by public transportation. Now imagine you have no money to get on a bus to take you to that library. Hard to imagine? This is the reality in Tigania West and many other parts of Kenya; one we are passionate about and want to change.
Our goal for this #GivingTuesday is to raise $6,000 to purchase books authored by local Kenyan writers and published in Kenya, for the Pamoja Community Library set to open this coming Spring in the heart of Tigania West. By stocking part of the library with these books, we ensure children here are able to see and identify themselves in the cultural stories told in the local books.
So, this #GivingTuesday we invite you to join us in making this dream a reality, where your donation will bring a lasting change to the lives of children and youth in this community.
When you sponsor a full shelf, your name will be engraved on it to show our deep appreciation for your support. You may also sponsor one row of a shelf or donate towards a few books. Every dollar counts.
