Movie Screening – Queen of Katwe, May 2017

It was a great privilege to partner with the Embassy of Kenya in Washington, D.C. to screen Queen of Katwe, a movie that showcases the power of knowledge, perseverance, good mentorship, and opportunity among youth in poor communities. Deputy Ambassador, Mr. David Gacheru, received and addressed the guests before settling into the Wangari Maathai conference room for the screening. It was a wonderful night spent in the company of some incredible people who believe education is key in resolving most of the global issues we face today such as poverty, inequality, and unemployment. We are excited to have the support of the Kenyan embassy, both old and new Pamoja friends as we push to make a positive impact in the lives of marginalized children and youth.
